Carpenter looking for 1 bed flat near Brighton | in Hastings, East Sussex

Hi. I am a carpenter looking to rent a 1 bed flat somewhere near Brighton. I am currently a self employed kitchen fitter working for Dream Doors in Portslade. This means my work is between Pevensey and Shoreham, but mainly in Brighton and Hove. I currently live in Hastings, meaning a daily 3 hour round trip and a £500 pm fuel bill!
If you have a flat that needs work, I am more than willing to do a deal with you to bring it up to date. I have a vast set of skills: kitchens, bathrooms, joinery, plastering, tiling, etc. I can offer £1000 pm in rent, or a reduction for work, or indeed favourable rates for work needed. You can see my reviews at checkatrade, Dream Doors Brighton, look for my name Darren. In 500 kitchens, I have yet to get a rating lower than 9 out of 10.
I need: 1 bedroom flat (flexible if needs work), either allocated parking (I drive a land rover, so no big van), or convenient dropping off place. My tools are usually on the job, but occasionally need to bring home, so ground floor or 1st floor. I also have a cat. She is 21 yrs old, and probably won’t live for much longer, but I have been saying that for 5 years now. Garden is nice but not crucial. I don’t have a deadline for moving, but sooner rather than later would be good.
I am 56 yrs old. Living in Hastings for 10 years, London before that. I have split from a relationship, and so I do not have a recent history of rental, but I am willing to provide for any credit check, or indeed enter into a rent guarantor scheme. I have already been pre-accepted by Guarantid. I am sad to announce that my party days are very much in the past, and I live a quiet life these days. I am a non smoker.
